Essential HR – Imminent changes to the way I work
I need to update you on some changes that are coming up – some quite soon…
I am not getting any younger and, after giving a lot to the SME market over the last 17.5 years, it is time for me to start giving more to myself and my family. Though I hope to have limited effect on the services I provide.
I am therefore starting to downsize a little bit and will operate Essential HR with just me. This means that:
- Jess finishes up on the 12th April (tomorrow), after working here for 4.5 years, to start a new adventure in an in-house line HR role.
- I will be leaving my office, in Waltham, at the end of May and will be primarily working from home when I am not meeting with clients or working in Ashburton. However, there is still the opportunity for me to hire one of the meeting rooms at our current office address, as needed to meet with clients and/or facilitate meetings (such as disciplinaries etc).
- Later in the year, I plan to reduce my hours to work 4 days a week.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years! I look forward to continuing to work together as I transition into this new phase of life.
Fee Increases:
The 1st April 2024 marks a review of my fees for providing HR support and advice. Some of my rates have been unchanged for a while and now that it will be just me I have decided it is time to fix my rates:
I will be therefore increasing my fees to $300 per hour (less 15% for charities and non-profits).
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the clients I have had the privilege to work with over the last 4.5 years. It has not been possible to speak to you all myself, unfortunately, so please accept my gratitude. I have loved working here at Essential HR and building great working relationships with so many of you, assisting you with your people needs.
I wish you all the best for the future of your businesses!
Many thanks, Jess
